World

Heart on My Sleeve, taken at its word.

HOMS makes clothing for the things you carry inside that aren't reaching anyone yet — what you'd say but don't, what you've learned that could help, the stances you've made privately and haven't yet declared.

What's inside, worn outside. A HOMS piece carries a sentence that's true for the wearer, in a form where someone else can find it without being approached.

A note from the founder

I started HOMS because I wasn't getting much of what was inside me out to anyone. I'd talk myself into working harder when the truer answer was that I wasn't expressing myself outward at all. I don't love approaching strangers. I don't want to take up space I wasn't invited into. So a lot stayed in.

Clothing is already in front of other people. If I'm not putting what's inside out by speaking, I can put it out by wearing it. Not the figure of speech — the literal version. HOMS is the form I needed first, made available to whoever else needs it.

On the lanes

HOMS speaks in registers — different volumes for different kinds of truth. Two lanes are currently in circulation.

Lane HL

Heartlines

A note worn outside. The sentimental register — close, quiet, said at the right volume. Tender, private, not announced. The literal heart, on a literal sleeve.

Lane CL

Clues

A pattern handed forward. The learning register — what the wearer noticed and is making available, in case it helps the next person find theirs. Filed, indexed, offered.

Lane SG

Signals

A third lane, in development. The declarative register — a line drawn. Identity made apparent. Not yet public.

How we work

One core idea per garment. One special move per design. The shirt does the expressive work the wearer is not yet ready to do directly — and the copy describes the shirt; it doesn't perform the shirt's job.

We don't do motivational posters, novelty graphics, or sentences that could belong to any brand. We don't run loud sales. We don't ask anyone to celebrate themselves.

The pieces are printed on premium blanks built to be worn often, kept long, and washed without losing their job.

Field notes

A short letter, when there's something worth filing — new pieces, what we're noticing, what we're testing. No campaign blasts.
